King Street Bucks Night: A Sample Itinerary for Melbourne’s CBD

King Street is where many Melbourne bucks nights end up, and there’s a good reason for it. Centrefold Lounge (22 King Street) and Private Eyes Gentlemen’s Club (14 King Street) are a few doors apart, the CBD is close by for dinner, and getting home by taxi or rideshare is easy. Here’s a sample itinerary you can copy, adjust and send to the group chat.

The plan at a glance

2:00pm

Afternoon activity

Something competitive to break the ice.

5:30pm

Freshen up and change

Costumes off, smart casual on.

6:30pm

Dinner in the CBD

A long table, set menu, one bill.

8:30pm

One bar for drinks

Close to King Street. Pace yourselves.

9:30pm

Club booking on King Street

Arrive together at your booked time.

2:00pm: The afternoon activity

Pick one activity that gets the group laughing. Popular choices for Melbourne bucks include go-karting, clay target shooting, axe throwing, a brewery or distillery tour, lawn bowls or a round of mini golf. Stick to one. Two activities plus a club makes for a very long day.

5:30pm: Change before dinner

If the buck has spent the afternoon in a costume, this is when it comes off. Both King Street clubs have a smart casual dress code, and Centrefold specifically doesn’t allow thongs, singlets or sportswear. Have everyone bring a collared shirt and proper shoes.

6:30pm: Dinner

Book a long table somewhere within a short walk of King Street. A set menu makes the bill easy, and a proper meal before the club helps the whole crew pace the night. Venues operate under Responsible Service of Alcohol rules.

8:30pm: One bar, not a bar crawl

Moving 15 people between five bars wastes the night and loses people. Choose one bar close to King Street and stay there until it’s time to walk over.

9:30pm: The club

This is the anchor of the night. Your two King Street options:

  • Centrefold Lounge, 22 King Street. Open seven nights, from 8pm Sunday to Thursday and from 7pm Friday and Saturday. Four tiered bucks packages for groups of 10 or more, built around 20-minute private shows, plus bottle service. See the Centrefold bucks guide.
  • Private Eyes Gentlemen’s Club, 14 King Street. Open Wednesday to Sunday from 8pm. Continuous main-stage shows and a VIP Lounge with its own private stage. See the Private Eyes bucks guide.

Coming from Marvel Stadium or Southern Cross? The Men’s Gallery at 601 Lonsdale Street is a short walk away and opens from 6pm seven nights. See the Men’s Gallery bucks guide.

Getting there and home

  • Public transport: trams run along the CBD grid, and Southern Cross Station is close to the west end of the city.
  • Parking: several paid parking stations are near King Street, but if you’re drinking, leave the car at home.
  • Getting home: taxis and rideshare are easy to find around King Street. Agree on a pickup point before the night starts.

Door-rule reminder for the group chat

Bring photo ID (licence or passport). Smart casual only: no thongs, singlets or sportswear. No filming inside. Meet at [bar] at 9:15pm and we walk over together.
